We were struck by the personalities of pupils - happy, lively, not arrogant - and the general atmosphere of genuine care from staff to pupils, and pupil to pupil.
I feel you work so hard to not just teach but to nurture and develop your pupils. You instil in them a pride at belonging to the school and in joining with its traditions. You respond well to queries and have been supportive when needed. Everything you do here is invaluable.
The school is uniquely special, pupils and teachers are like family. They have ups, they have downs, they have great times and they fall out sometimes, just like all families, but they have a glue that seems to bind them together. Pocklington School has something different, something magic that is difficult to put into words.
The house music and drama events have a very positive impact on the school
community. They serve to break down the barriers between the different age
groups and create a real family feel in the house groups.
The pastoral care and the manners of all the children. As a parent of a first year, my daughter has told me of some lovely experiences she has had with Sixth Formers.
I wish you could have heard the comments being made outside of church by members
of the congregation just now. The service was beautiful, the choir are stunning and
everyone was so keen to give praise.
Thank you so so much for all your support over the last two years and
particularly your relentless encouragement over the last year! There is no way
I would have done the work that was essential to getting my place as a
medical student without it all. I am so excited to start at the University of
Leicester in 9 days.
Being part of the RAF section has been a pleasure and an enjoyable
experience that I believe has truly improved my self-confidence and many
other skills, (too many to name!) and is something that I will never forget.
I hope all the rest of the cadets make the most of it while they can!! I am very
sad to be leaving and will miss it so much.
Just one of the amazing memories I will have of Pocklington School!
I know I owe a lot of why I'm gonna walk out of that exam room happy is down
to you. I don't think I'd have been able to get the grades I've gotten or love the
past three years of history as much as I have without the love you two both
inspired in me for history.
Before Pocklington I'd been to two other independent schools which were
extremely good in their own right, but what makes Pock Pock is the
outstanding level of support from the teachers. I could write about every single
teacher that has helped me but then I realised I'd be writing about every one.
Hello this is a message for the Head Teacher and pupils
Yesterday my wife and our friends travelled back from Malaga to Leeds airport, along with a number of your teenage students and teaching staff.
I would just like to comment that we all thought the behaviour, politeness towards their staff and other persons flying, is a credit to your school and the students. All too often young persons are criticised for the least matters and never for their good conduct. So congrats to you and your staff and especially those students travelling.
